Overview

Ship Maintenance is a critical aspect of maritime operations, mandated by classification societies and international regulations. It ensures that the vessel remains safe for crew, cargo, and the environment.

Types of Maintenance

  1. Corrective (Breakdown): Repairing equipment after it has failed.
  2. Preventive (Planned): Service performed at scheduled intervals (time-based or running-hour based).
  3. Predictive (Condition-Based): Maintenance performed only when indicators suggest failure is imminent.
  4. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM): A strategy that selects the most appropriate maintenance type for each asset based on its criticality.
